This project started as a private initiative and is now becoming an academic project with international support. It is our aim to create an international network of partner institutions to manage and maintain this system (including related projects).

The concept behind the R Framework is explained in this article: A framework for statistical software development, maintenance, and publishing within an open-access business model, Computational Statistics 2008
The original publication is available at www.springerlink.com (DOI 10.1007/s00180-008-0107-y)

The R Framework is the underlying technology of research & development projects. One of them is explained in this paper:
Wessa P, De Rycker A, Holliday IE (2011) Content-Based VLE Designs Improve Learning Efficiency in Constructivist Statistics Education. PLoS ONE 6(10): e25363. doi:10.1371/journal.pone.0025363
A pdf version is also available.

Another one illustrates how the R Framework can be used in constructivist education. The paper discusses a randomized experiment which provides compelling evidence that submitting Peer Review feedback leads to benefits in terms of deep learning, attitudes, and actual behavior:
Wessa P, Holliday IE (2012) Does Reviewing Lead to Better Learning and Decision Making? Answers from a Randomized Stock Market Experiment. PLoS ONE 7(5): e37719. doi:10.1371/journal.pone.0037719
